Our day begins with a meditative stroll. Heel to toe, heel to toe. Really feel the planet below your feet, let it ground you. It’s really early, yet I really feel awake and alert. Perhaps it’s due to the time change, or perhaps it’s because of the deep rest I had the evening before. Regardless, it feels terrific. We wind around a path left by the footprints of those that strolled here before us– but the course isn’t a lot a course as it is a hint of people having strolled there– clearly they are rare. Under the color of oak trees, past a tank where bullfrogs hide in lily pads and also contact us to each various other back and forth all day long. Up a hillside, where we stop and count on take in the view of the landscape below us. The trees are so intriguing below– so unlike the trees in Philly. There’s an unusual tree that is breaking down and covered with holes. Initially my mind assumes termites, yet a closer look reveals that the openings are plugged with acorns. Aaron informs us there’s a type of woodpecker that does this. I’ve never seen anything like that. I question what this tree, what all these trees, have seen in their lifetime. I question what tales they need to tell. After a meditative exercise that focuses on breathing and also absorbing the energy of the ambience around us, we head back for breakfast.
Breakfast is amazing– oat meal, yogurt, fresh berries, eggs, tomatoes, and the coffee that tasted oh so remarkable. Whatever Eva as well as Scott offer is vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free, and also amazing. After morning meal … time for yoga exercise! I felt a little rusty initially– I have actually been so hectic I haven’t made the effort to do yoga all that much lately– yet whatever came back like acquired behavior. My biggest obstacle is taking a breath. I still have a tendency to hold my breath occasionally, as well as it’s hard for me to totally relax my body and also let go. I still really feel a stress in my belly and jaw. Aaron informs us this is regular. We often tend to hold a lot of tension in these locations– which are in fact quite attached– due to the fact that this world simply anticipates also much of us at times. Often it’s alright to let those assumptions fly out the window. We can just do so much. As I thought about this I emotionally tossed thoughts of tension as well as stress and anxiety gone in front of me, out into the California air.
